ACB-Ohio 2008 State Convention

“Making Yourself Aware”

Join us on November 7 – 9th at the Holiday Inn on the Lane in Columbus. Our keynote speaker, Joel Snyder, is the President, CEO, and Founder of Audio Description Associates – “The Visual Made Verbal”. One of the first audio describers, Joel Snyder began describing theater events and media in 1980. His abilities as a describer make hundreds of live theater productions accessible to visually impaired audience members; he develops audio described tours for major museums throughout the United States through his own company Audio Description Associates.

We’ll have top notch speakers like Eric Bridges, Director of Advocacy and Governmental Affairs with ACB; Scott Lissner, ADA Coordinator for OSU; and Elizabeth Sammons, Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission Legislative Liaison.

We’re putting together workshops that cover fitness, legislative matters, employment, handy-man/fix-it yourself, practical tips on making life a little bit easier, technology, advocacy, and education. The Basket Auction will return – a fantastic opportunity for chapters to raise money. Begin now to make plans to attend our state convention!
